Description
The Spares and Repair Parts program within the Navy's procurement activities is focused on ensuring the readiness and sustainability of Marine Corps equipment. This initiative provides necessary repairable and consumable components to support the Fleet Marine Force. The primary objective is to maintain operational capability by reimbursing the Navy Working Capital Fund for initial spare parts packages released with principal end items. This approach emphasizes timely delivery and support for critical equipment.

A significant goal of this program is to support the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Family of Vehicles (ACV FOV) by procuring initial spares for various components such as communication suites, electric starters, and shock absorbers. For FY 2025, resources are allocated to ensure these spares are available in line with procurement lead times. The program also accounts for inflationary adjustments, reflecting a slight increase from the previous fiscal year. This ensures that the ACV FOV remains fully operational and capable of meeting mission requirements.

Additionally, the program supports the AN/TPS-80 Ground Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) systems by providing resources for spares funding. This allocation aims to sustain forty-five G/ATOR systems fielded by the second quarter of FY 2025. The decentralized distribution of initial spares from LOGCOM to Repair Inventory Points at each Marine Expeditionary Force is a key strategy to maintain system readiness. Despite a decrease in spares funding from FY 2024, adequate sparing combined with baseline depot funding ensures that G/ATOR systems meet their Key Performance Parameters, particularly in sustainment.

The Spares and Repair Parts program underscores a commitment to maintaining high levels of equipment readiness across various platforms within the Marine Corps. By focusing on both immediate needs and long-term sustainability, this initiative plays a crucial role in supporting operational effectiveness and mission success for naval forces.
