Predator Hellfire Missile

The Predator Hellfire Missile program, managed by the Air Force, focuses on procuring Hellfire missiles through the Army's Redstone Arsenal. The primary goal is to enhance precision-kill capabilities for overseas operations, utilizing the MQ-9 Reaper aircraft. The Hellfire missile variants, particularly those with laser guidance, are designed to provide point target precision strikes and are effective against countermeasures. This program aims to ensure that the Air Force maintains a robust and reliable missile inventory to support its tactical operations.

A key objective is to address obsolescence and end-of-life issues within the missile system. In FY2024, the focus was on end item support, delivery charges, and administrative costs associated with the Hellfire missiles. However, there is no request for FY2025 funding under this program line item. The absence of a request indicates that current inventory levels or other strategic considerations may suffice for immediate operational needs without additional procurement in that fiscal year.
