Description
The Intelligence Training Equipment program focuses on enhancing training capabilities for personnel in various intelligence-related career fields within the Air Force. This initiative aims to procure advanced equipment to support both initial and advanced training for intelligence officers, geospatial analysts, targeteers, and other specialized roles. The primary objective is to provide functional training using the latest generation of intelligence systems, with an emphasis on computer-based training through modeling and simulation.
A significant component of this program is the Goodfellow Intelligence Training Architecture (GITA) upgrade. This upgrade seeks to modernize and integrate multiple networks and systems into a cohesive training infrastructure, supporting over 7,900 students annually at Goodfellow Air Force Base in Texas. The GITA project aims to align technologies with advanced teaching techniques, enhance system capabilities to support evolving operational intelligence tools, and ensure compliance with the latest cybersecurity requirements.
The program also includes lifecycle support for hardware and software essential for delivering comprehensive intelligence training. This encompasses student workstations, network servers, storage solutions, scenario-based modeling tools, and courseware development software. By consolidating these elements into a single architecture, the program seeks to reduce failure rates and outages while addressing uncertainties in sustainment capabilities.
The Intelligence Training Equipment program is designed to prepare military intelligence personnel effectively to support warfighting commanders and contribute to the National Intelligence Program. By investing in state-of-the-art training equipment and infrastructure upgrades, the program aims to maintain a high standard of readiness among Air Force personnel and their joint/coalition partners.
