Description
The Marine Corps IT Development and Modernization program is focused on enhancing Information Technology services to support the deployment of software applications and Defense Business Systems. This initiative is essential for advancing business solutions, with an emphasis on modernizing IT systems to boost efficiency and meet cybersecurity mandates. It includes projects like the modernization of the Marine Corps Recruiting Information Support System, which automates administrative procedures for recruiting operations while ensuring data protection and policy compliance.
Strategic Management Decision Support (SMDS) is a significant element of this program, offering data-driven decision support for strategic-level business processes. SMDS aims to optimize force development outcomes and improve institutional readiness by integrating data management services and developing analytic tools. This system will aid in global force management, readiness assessment, and capability solution development, providing Marine Corps leaders with high-quality data for informed decision-making.
The Command Individual Risk and Resiliency Assessment System (CIRRAS) enhances risk assessments related to individual service members' behaviors. CIRRAS Version 2.0 will introduce automated resiliency scores and alerts for leadership about at-risk personnel, aiming to prevent adverse outcomes such as suicide among service members. This system supports the Force Preservation Council by offering a standardized methodology for managing individual risk factors.
Manpower Operations Systems are being developed to transform human resource management from inventory-based to talent-based systems. The goal is to create dynamic HR solutions using modern technologies like cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. These efforts aim to improve talent management processes across recruitment, retention, performance evaluation, and career path optimization within the Marine Corps. The modernization of these systems seeks to streamline human capital processes, reduce administrative overhead, and enhance overall workforce satisfaction and effectiveness.
