Description
The Distribution Systems, Petroleum & Water program is designed to enhance the Army's ability to supply bulk fuel and water during Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) on a global scale. This initiative supports various Cross Function Teams (CFTs), including Long Range Precision Fires, Next Generation Combat Vehicles, Air and Missile Defense, and Future Vertical Lift. It involves procuring essential equipment such as hoses, pumps, tanks, filter separators, and nozzles to ensure efficient distribution and storage of petroleum and water resources.

A significant objective is modernizing water distribution systems with the introduction of the Water Bison, which replaces the aging Water Buffalo. The Water Bison features a 500-gallon tank with freeze prevention capabilities, providing a full day's supply of potable water to Army units. Additionally, the Water Storage Distribution System (WSDS) offers a 100,000-gallon capacity for potable water storage and is adaptable for various operational configurations. These advancements aim to improve logistical support for Army operations by ensuring reliable access to clean water.

The program also enhances fuel distribution capabilities through systems like the Modular Fuel System (MFS) Tank Rack Module (TRM) and Pump Rack Module (PRM). These systems provide mobile storage and distribution solutions that can be rapidly deployed in diverse environments. The Early Entry Fluid Distribution System (E2FDS) complements these efforts by offering automated conduit systems for early entry petroleum and water distribution over extended distances.

Beyond procurement goals, the program supports engineering changes, system testing and evaluation, training, logistics products, support equipment, and fielding for all procured systems. This comprehensive approach ensures that the Army's distribution systems remain robust and capable of meeting current and future operational demands across various theaters of operation.
