Description
The Cyberspace Operations Forces and Force Support program, under the United States Cyber Command, focuses on enhancing the security and operational capabilities of the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN). The primary mission is to ensure command and control over global security measures, safeguarding the DODIN. This involves synchronizing protection efforts across all DoD network enclaves and warfighting domains, ensuring that DoD components can project power and maintain freedom of action.
A key objective is to address critical daily requirements for protecting the DODIN. This includes managing global engagement needs and assessing readiness against mission-critical Combatant Command requirements. The Joint Force Headquarters Department of Defense Information Network (JFHQ-DODIN) plays a crucial role in providing unity of command between USCYBERCOM and its subordinate headquarters, as well as coordinating efforts with other DoD components. This coordination ensures that the readiness, availability, and security of the DODIN are maintained for joint missions.
In FY 2024, resources are directed towards research, development, testing, and evaluation activities supporting Cyberspace Operations Forces and Force Support. These efforts focus on evaluating integrated technologies and prototype systems within high-fidelity and realistic operating environments. The aim is to enhance the effectiveness of cyberspace operations by ensuring that all technological advancements are thoroughly tested before deployment.
Looking forward to FY 2025 and beyond, there has been a strategic restructuring within USCYBERCOM to better align projects with their respective activities. Project CY12 has been transferred to CY50D2 as part of this realignment effort. This change reflects an ongoing commitment to refining organizational structures to support evolving cyberspace operational needs effectively.
