Description
The CI Automation Architecture-Intel program aims to enhance the Army's counterintelligence capabilities by providing advanced operational equipment. This initiative is crucial for improving information sharing, situational awareness, and knowledge management within a joint operational environment. It supports the Joint Task Force Guantanamo by supplying critical intelligence capabilities necessary for detainee operations, military commissions, and detainee assessments. Additionally, it ensures compliance with directives from the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Department of Defense General Counsel regarding the preservation of detainee records.

A key objective of the program is to maintain and support Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility - Information Technology (SCIF-IT). This involves sustaining the Joint Worldwide Information Communications System Top Secret network services across the Army. The program also extends support to Collateral network services, which include Secret and below classifications within the Army's military intelligence IT domains. By doing so, it ensures that critical communication and intelligence systems remain operational and secure.

In fiscal year 2025, this program focuses on procuring Department of Defense Intelligence Information System-compliant counterintelligence and human intelligence material solutions. These solutions are designed to enhance case management, threat management information systems, and information processing systems at various Army Intelligence sites. The funding facilitates the acquisition of specialized equipment necessary for global counterintelligence operations and investigations. It also supports life-cycle replacement for essential information technology systems like JWICS to sustain global Army intelligence operations effectively.

The CI Automation Architecture-Intel program plays a vital role in strengthening the Army's intelligence infrastructure. It ensures that both current operations and future needs are met through strategic investments in technology and equipment. By focusing on these objectives, the program contributes significantly to maintaining national security and enhancing the Army's ability to respond to global threats efficiently.
