Description
The Battlespace Knowledge Development and Demonstration program is a strategic initiative by the Air Force focused on advancing enterprise-centric information technologies for military operations. Within this program, the C4I Battlespace Development and Demonstration project aims to enable rapid mission execution across various levels of warfare. It seeks to establish secure, net-enabled architectures and communication technologies that support global military operations. Additionally, the project works to create a common operating picture of the battlespace by processing data from multiple sources, providing decision-makers with seamless access to critical information.

Another key component of this program is the Cyber Battlespace Development and Demonstration project, which is dedicated to enhancing cyber capabilities. This project focuses on developing technologies for cyber-attack, defense, and support to achieve cyber dominance. It aims to deliver capabilities such as attack detection, response automation, and situation awareness. The project also emphasizes developing new computational models and high-performance computing systems to support large-scale software-intensive systems.

Both projects align with the National Defense Strategy and Air Force Future Operating Concept, emphasizing operational agility through multi-domain command and control (MDC2) capabilities. The research and development efforts are geared towards enabling flexibility, speed, coordination, balance, and strength in military operations. By concentrating on these areas, the program aims to adapt swiftly to various situations or enemy actions.

The Battlespace Knowledge Development and Demonstration program is designed to integrate advanced technology into military operations through rigorous research and development efforts. By coordinating with the Department of Defense Science and Technology Executive Committee, the program ensures its initiatives are harmonized with broader defense objectives while eliminating duplication of efforts.
