Description
The Acquisition Workforce - Cyber, Network, & Business Systems program is managed by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC). It aims to equip U.S. and allied forces with advanced operational weapon systems. The primary goal is to support all phases of acquisition programs, including material solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production and deployment, and operations and support. This initiative focuses on providing the necessary management tools and technical capabilities required to oversee acquisition programs throughout their life cycle.
This program supports both civilian pay and non-pay requirements for the acquisition workforce. The civilian pay component ensures that the workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to manage Cyber, Network, and Business Systems acquisition programs effectively. In FY 2025, there is a projected increase in workforce years (WYs) funded, reflecting a commitment to enhancing the capabilities of the acquisition workforce. This increase is accompanied by adjustments in average workforce year costs (AWYC) to accommodate rate changes.
Additionally, the Acquisition Workforce - Global Battle Management project within this initiative focuses on similar objectives but emphasizes global battle management systems. It supports civilian pay for personnel involved in managing these systems' acquisition processes. The FY 2025 plans indicate a decrease in funded WYs compared to FY 2024, along with adjustments in AWYC due to changes in allocations.
The Acquisition Workforce - Cyber, Network, & Business Systems program aims to maintain a robust and capable workforce that can manage complex acquisition processes for cutting-edge weapon systems. By supporting both civilian pay and non-pay requirements, it ensures that personnel are adequately equipped to oversee these critical defense initiatives throughout their life cycle.
