UAS MODS under the Army's Aircraft Procurement budget activity, aims to upgrade the One System Remote Video Terminal (OSRVT) to its Increment II version. This upgrade includes the ROVER 6S variant to meet new spectrum requirements, as well as the addition of a Soldier Portable OSRVT (SPOT) for dismounted users. The program supports current operations and Future Unmanned Aircraft Systems (FUAS) requirements. The specific objectives include equipping new Multi-Domain Expeditionary Battalions with the upgraded ROVER 6S OSRVT systems and ensuring interoperability with Small UAS. Additionally, the SPOT variant is designed to provide a wearable solution for dismounted users, enhancing their capabilities in various operational scenarios.

The OSRVT Increment II Upgrade Program of Record (POR) began in FY 2012 and aims to provide an updated system with enhanced capabilities, including support for decoding Telemetry Data from multiple Manned/Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Electro-Optical/Infrared payload control, and off-target calculations. The program also aligns with the requirements outlined in the FY 2008 National Defense Authorization Act (P.L. 110-181), emphasizing its necessity for use by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities. The budget allocation for FY2024 and FY2025 base funding is specifically intended to equip new Multi-Domain Expeditionary Battalions with the newly upgraded ROVER 6S OSRVT systems, ensuring that they meet current operational needs and future unmanned aircraft system requirements while maintaining interoperability with Small UAS.
