TROJAN - RH12

TROJAN - RH12 under the Army's Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) budget activity, aims to support the development of TROJAN Next Generation (TROJAN NexGEN) capabilities. These capabilities are designed to fulfill the Army's need for worldwide, deployable, remotable intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance support that can dynamically execute operations from sanctuary-based to deployed assets in theater. The program's objectives include providing soldiers with real-world, hands-on, live and near-real-time Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) training environment to sustain and enhance their military occupational specialty proficiencies and specific target expertise. Additionally, the program aims to enable seamless rapid radio relay and secure communications to provide electronic reconnaissance support to U.S. forces worldwide.

The program also focuses on testing and evaluating new digital intelligence collection, processing, and dissemination technology using the fielded TROJAN NexGEN systems before acquiring those technologies. This includes integrating direction finding and geolocation technologies into TROJAN Remote Receiving Groups and continuously adapting/improving the latest direction finding and geolocation technologies for integration into TROJAN NexGEN systems. Furthermore, the program plans to acquire and apply multi-bandwidth compression algorithm technology to maximize TROJAN intelligence network throughput. These efforts are part of the larger goal of enhancing the Army's intelligence training requirement via a secure, collaborative architecture and keeping pace with digitization initiatives to respond aggressively to emerging intelligence communication threats.
