Description
Training Devices supports the procurement and modernization of various training systems for the Marine Corps. This includes the Combined Arms Command and Control Trainer Upgrade System (CACCTUS) which provides a simulated environment for Marines to practice teamwork required for commanding, controlling, and coordinating supporting arms. The program also includes the Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE) for laptop-based simulation training and the Force on Force Training Systems (FoFTS) that provide realistic, non-live fire capabilities for tactical engagement training. Additionally, the program supports the Family of Combat Vehicle Training System (FCVTS), Family of Egress Trainers (FET), Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer (ISMT), Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Tactical Warfare Simulation (MTWS), Marine Corps Distance Learning (MCDL), and Ranges and Training Area Management (RTAM).
The specific objectives of this budget line item are to ensure that Marines receive comprehensive and realistic training across a range of combat scenarios. This includes enhancing command and control capabilities through CACCTUS, providing portable simulation training with DVTE, and enabling realistic force-on-force training with FoFTS. The program also aims to improve combat vehicle training through FCVTS, enhance egress training with FET, and provide marksmanship proficiency with ISMT. Additionally, it supports MAGTF tactical warfare simulation, distance learning, and modernization of live training ranges through MTWS, MCDL, and RTAM respectively. Overall, the program seeks to equip Marines with the necessary skills and readiness to effectively operate in diverse combat environments.
