Description
Tactical/Mobile C4I Systems is a Navy initiative aimed at modernizing the ground station program that supports P-8A Poseidon and MQ-4C Triton pre and post-flight C4I requirements and Inflight Command and Control support. The program includes the procurement of fixed-site Tactical Operations Centers (TOCs), Mobile Tactical Operations Centers (MTOCs), and Fly Away Kits (FAKs) to provide critical reach-back capabilities between the airborne platforms and the Maritime Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Enterprise/ decision makers. The specific objectives include the modernization of the C4I architecture through an evolutionary development strategy consisting of incremental upgrades synchronized to match increased P-8A capabilities, while retaining current functionality and readiness. The program also aims to implement a modular system design approach allowing for rapid upgrades to system capabilities to keep pace with evolving operational environments.
Additionally, Program 2906 supports the technical refreshes of TacMobile TOC, MTOC, and FAKS to support all PRE-Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 6/7 P-8A configured aircraft. This includes procurement of Qty 2 TacMobile Fly Away Kits (FAK) to meet required Inventory Threshold, procurement of Qty 4 Technical Refresh (TR 2.1.3) at Mobile Tactical Operations Centers, and installation of Qty 6 Technical Refresh (TR 2.1.2) of Increment 2.1 at Tactical Operations Centers. The funding also supports DJC2 system modernization efforts for six sites, aiming to maintain interoperability with Joint Force Commanders, address cyber vulnerabilities, and extend service life of fielded systems by delivering upgrades to the server stacks for 2 Cores and associated communication equipment to improve mission readiness and reliability.
