Description
Spares and Repair Parts is a budget line item that provides funding to procure spares for systems and equipment budgeted in Budget Activities (BA) 01-07. This budget supports End-Item Hardware procurements and is further broken down into four separate sub-line items: Initial Spares, Lay-In Spares, Vendor-Direct (Replenishment) Spares, and Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL) Outfitting Spares. The specific goals of this program include procuring spares to maintain operational availability of new and existing spares and repair parts for systems fielded to the operational warfighters. It also aims to enhance the ability to provide onboard repair parts, interim depot spares, and installation and checkout spares in order to sustain the Navy's mission readiness and information dominance posture.

The FY24 OPN Spares funding will maintain operational availability of new and existing spares and repair parts for systems fielded to the operational warfighters. The funding increase will enhance the ability to provide onboard repair parts, interim depot spares, and installation and checkout spares in order to sustain the Navy's mission readiness and information dominance posture. The specific objectives include procuring spares for Surface Combatant HM&E, Other Navigation Equipment, Submarine Periscopes and Imaging Equipment Program, DDG Mod, Outfitting COSAL Spares, DDG-1000 Class Product Improvement, LCS Mission Packages, LCS SUW Mission Modules, LCS In-Service Modernization, OPN SPQ-9B Radar / PMC ACV 1.2, AN/SQQ-89 Surf ASW Combat System, SSN Acoustic Equipment, Submarine Acoustic Warfare System, SURTASS, AN/SLQ-32 Surface Electronic Warfare (EW) Improvement Program (SEWIP), Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS), Navigation Signal Timing and Ranging Global Positioning System (NAVSTAR GPS) Receivers (Space), Ashore ATC Equipment - (Initial), Afloat ATC Equipment - (Initial), Naval Mission Planning Systems - (Initial), P-8 Ground Station - (Initial), Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES), Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) Intell, Integrated Combat System Test Facility, Items less than $5 Million, Shipboard Tactical Communication, Ship Communications Automation, Submarine Broadcast Support, Submarine Communication Equipment, Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT), Info Systems Security Program (ISSP), Coast Guard Equipment - Weapons Range Support Equipment (WRSE).
