Description
Space Superiority ISR falls under the Air Force's Research, Development, Test & Evaluation budget activity. The program's primary goal is to provide Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to support Space Superiority activities for the Space Operations Command (SpOC) and Combatant Command (CCMD) needs. This includes funding for the development of intelligence activities to support new space superiority capability acquisition and development, as well as the enhancement of intelligence support systems for Space Domain Awareness (SDA) activities. The program aims to provide crucial cryptologic and ISR capabilities through the rapid development and fielding of fixed and transportable intelligence architectures capable of front-end collection and analysis of new technologies in near real time. Additionally, it supports the development and fielding of SDA capabilities to preserve the US space advantage across all domains.
Furthermore, the program focuses on enhancing automation, vulnerability and susceptibility tools, and analytic exploitation capabilities to enable quicker responses to ISR needs. It also emphasizes the development of mission management planning enhancements and robust collection automation capability. The program's objectives include completing deliveries of large antennas to Space ISR sites, implementing radio frequency search and survey tool enhancements, expanding long-haul communications bandwidth, and providing automated mission management and PED systems. The program's acquisition strategy involves awarding contracts using competitive procedures to the maximum extent possible for various development efforts related to intelligence architecture upgrades, data analysis, production development, test support for R&D, and ISR cell for data management archiving, exploitation, and dissemination.
Overall, the Space Superiority ISR program aims to support cutting-edge space acquisition capabilities by providing critical intelligence support for space superiority and space control through advanced ISR capabilities that can keep pace with technological advances and emerging threats.
