Shoulder Launched Munitions All Types, falls under the Army's procurement of ammunition and aims to provide a range of munitions to support operational readiness and training requirements. This includes the procurement of various munitions such as the AT4CS-RS launcher and cartridge, 7.62mm tracer rounds for the Carl Gustaf system, high explosive 84mm cartridges for the MAAWS system, and other related items. The program supports the Army Strategy Line of Effort 1 by enabling operational readiness and Line of Effort 2 by contributing to Soldier Lethality modernization priorities.

Additionally, the program includes the development and procurement of new systems such as the Individual Assault Munition (IAM) system and the Bunker Defeat Munition (BDM). These new systems aim to enhance Soldier capabilities in urban and complex terrains, reduce logistics and training burdens associated with multiple systems, and extend overmatch against peer/near-peer adversaries in joint, multi-domain, high-intensity conflicts. The budget allocation for FY 2024 supports critical Army Title 10 war reserve/operational, training, and test requirements in accordance with DoD Instruction 3000.04 and AR 5-13. It is also necessary for use by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities.
