PTES HUB

PTES HUB is a procurement initiative under the Space Force's Space Procurement program. The specific goal of this program is to develop the Protected Tactical Enterprise Service (PTES) ground system to provide worldwide, anti-jam, Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) communications for tactical warfighters. This includes utilizing the Protected Tactical Waveform (PTW) to provide anti-jam communications via military and commercial satellite systems for tactical users in all Services. The program aims to address the critical threat of electronic warfare attacks against space systems, particularly focusing on jamming capabilities against dedicated military satellite communications (MILSATCOM). The procurement funding will be used to acquire the Joint Hubs (JHs) necessary to operate the system at Full Operational Capability (FOC), with specific activities including site surveys, equipment purchases, installation, and testing.

The objectives of Program PTES00 include rapidly responding to implement system resiliency and situational awareness necessary to operate through the contested space domain. This involves procuring, assembling, testing, and installing a total of twelve JHs at six different DoD gateway sites to expand PTW coverage. Each Joint Hub consists of three racks of hardware equipment that includes modems, End Cryptographic Units (ECUs), and spares. Additionally, the program aims to achieve Initial Operational Capability (IOC) and Full Operational Capability (FOC) for PTW Over WGS and PTW Over Commercial efforts by specific timelines. The procurement funds will also be used for Interim Contractor Support (ICS), including the purchase of initial spares and support equipment, to enable seamless Rapid Prototyping transition into sustainment. Overall, the program aligns with Space Systems Command's transformation towards an enterprise approach in space acquisition, maximizing innovation and resiliency while strategically executing experimentation, prototyping, risk reduction, and other efforts to develop new or repurpose existing capabilities.
