Description
The Programwide Activities under PE 0605801A support the non-Army Management Headquarters Activity (non-AMHA) Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDTE) functions in the United States (U.S.) Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Centers. This includes the management and operation of multiple globally located DEVCOM International Technology Centers (ITCs), which play a crucial role in international cooperative research, development, and interoperability efforts. The program also encompasses various activities such as Army Science Board studies, non-AMHA Medical Command support at the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC), non-AMHA management and administrative functions at the U.S. Army Research Institute (ARI), and travel and administrative support to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Army Armaments Group (NAAG).
The Army Science Board (ASB) is a federal advisory committee that provides independent and transparent advice and recommendations to the Secretary of the Army and Secretary of Defense on scientific, technical, manufacturing, acquisition, logistics, and business management functions. The ASB focuses on issues important to large segments of the Army and delivers its products in a candid and timely manner. It is composed of world-class scientists, engineers, technologists, operational experts, business, policy, managerial specialists from various sectors. The ASB conducts studies on behalf of the Secretary of the Army in areas such as Basic Science and Disruptive Technology; Weapons Systems; C4ISR; Systems Engineering, Integrations, and Sustainment or other concerns related to the future of the force.
The Med Cmd Spt (Non-AMHA) project provides funding for authorized civilian workforce performing medical research, development, acquisition management, and oversight that support the medical Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDTE) programs at the United States (U.S.) Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC). This includes planning, programming, budgeting; managing resources; ensuring compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements; contracting; acquisition management functions; personnel management; legal support; quality assurance; environmental management; health management; animal & human research protections; among others.
