Description
LI 2618 the Navy Command and Control System (NCCS), encompasses the procurement and installation of Global Command and Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M), Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J), and Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS). The funding supports the acquisition of hardware and software for GCCS-M Afloat and Ashore, as well as GCCS-J Support Equipment. The specific objectives include providing Maritime Commanders with an integrated Command, Control, Communication, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) system that offers real-time situational awareness data, supports decision-making, and interfaces with Navy integrated weapons systems. Additionally, the program aims to provide support for Fleet Communications Center interfacing with deployed units and other fixed Fleet and Joint Command Centers.
The Navy Command and Control System (NCCS) program, under LI 2618, focuses on enhancing command and control capabilities by procuring and installing Global Command and Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M) Afloat and Ashore, Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) Support Equipment, and Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS). The program aims to provide Commanders at all echelons with a single, integrated C4I system that fuses, correlates, filters, maintains, and displays location information on friendly, hostile, and neutral forces. It also supports joint targeting coordination for time-sensitive targets across various military commanders. The funding increase in FY 2024 is attributed to a new DISA software release v6.X with associated hardware installations at Maritime Operation Centers (MOCs) and Joint Staff Critical sites at various locations.
