Description
National Technical Nuclear Forensics under the Air Force, aims to enhance the United States Nuclear Detonation Detection System (USNDS) for the collection, analysis, and evaluation of signatures from nuclear detonations in the atmosphere or space. The program focuses on integrating data from the SABRS-2 and SABRS-3 sensor suites into the Integrated Correlation and Display System (ICADS) and developing algorithms, codes, and tools necessary for detailed Subject Matter Expert analysis of SABRS data. Additionally, it includes necessary civilian pay expenses required to manage, execute, and deliver weapon system capability. The program's objectives include developing software for data ingestion, algorithm development for mission processing of SABRS data in ICADS, and implementing backward software compatibility for system configuration to provide flexibility during upgrades.
The program's planned programs for FY 2023 include developing software to permit ingestion of data from SABRS-2 and SABRS-3 sensor suites into ICADS, algorithm development for mission processing of SABRS data in ICADS, and algorithm, code, and tool development necessary for analysis of SABRS data by Subject Matter Experts. In FY 2024, the program plans to finish SABRS-2/3 data integration into ICADS and continue algorithm, code, and tool development necessary for Subject Matter Expert analysis of SABRS data. The increase in funding from FY 2023 to FY 2024 is attributed to increasing labor rates.
