Description
MOD OF IN-SVC EQUIP (INTEL SPT) aims to fund the technical insertions for ground-based Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) systems, providing additional capabilities required by fielded units to effectively engage enemy forces and provide Force Protection information to friendly forces. The program focuses on the procurement of Government and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (GOTS/COTS) Next Generation SIGINT capabilities for the Prophet system to pace near-peer, emerging threats and other Signals of Interest (SOI) to support the National Defense Strategy. This initiative supports force modernization with emerging capabilities in support of Multi-Domain Task Forces, enabling integration, interoperability, and enhanced force protection.
The specific objective of Program MOD OF IN-SVC EQUIP (INTEL SPT) is to ensure that the Prophet system remains relevant against emerging and evolving threats by upgrading Signal Relevance capabilities. The program aims to provide an open architecture with improved components and capabilities to address advanced signal types in a constantly contested spectrum environment. The procurement dollars allocated for FY 2024 Base support the integration and productization of modern Signals of Interest (SOI) and improvements to enhance the Prophet Enhanced system's ability to address an evolving threat signal base. This initiative aligns with the Army Acquisition Objective (AAO): 238 Volume 2 - 303, emphasizing the importance of staying ahead of evolving threats and ensuring the relevance and effectiveness of intelligence support equipment.
