Description
Mobility Command and Control is a critical initiative within the Air Force aimed at enhancing the command and control infrastructure for the Air Mobility Command (AMC) and Mobility Air Force (MAF). The program focuses on providing wired and wireless infrastructure equipment to support AMC's 618th Air Operations Center and 11 bases, ensuring connectivity to AMC's command and control systems. This includes procurement of cabling, routers, bridges, hubs, repeaters, and switches to maintain current information technology and interoperability with AMC's command and control systems. The program also supports AMC's global airlift/air refueling missions by providing centralized control and decentralized execution, enabling planning, scheduling, and direction of a fleet of over 1,100 mobility aircraft.
The specific objectives of Program 834070 include enhancing the command and control capabilities of the Air Mobility Command (AMC) to support its global airlift/air refueling missions. This involves providing centralized control and decentralized execution through the 618th Air Operations Center (AOC), which plans, schedules, and directs a fleet of over 1,100 mobility aircraft. Additionally, the program aims to ensure connectivity with critical Air Force systems such as the Information Transport System (ITS), Global Combat Support System (GCSS), and the Global Decision Support System (GDSS). By procuring wired and wireless infrastructure equipment for AMC's 618th AOC and 11 bases, the program seeks to maintain operational connectivity with AMC's command and control systems to support base security, emergency management, flight-line operations/maintenance, and crash response.
