Description
MDIOC under the Missile Defense Agency, aims to sustain and operate a mission complex for research, development, testing, training, and operations for Missile Defense System activities. The specific goals and objectives of this program include providing infrastructure support for various missile defense system elements such as the Ground-based Midcourse Defense Mission Control Center Facility, Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) Integration and Test Centers, and the C2BMC Experimentation Laboratories. Additionally, the program aims to support missile defense system test events, critical engagement conditions testing and analysis, and operations of the Missile Defense Element manned by the U.S. Army 100th Missile Defense Brigade. It also provides facilities that support operations of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Operations Support Center and hosts missile defense system wargames and exercises in support of the warfighter.
Furthermore, Program MDIOC is responsible for maintaining a Department of Defense (DoD) compliant Special Purpose Processing Node (SPPN) capable of meeting unique network and data center services required to develop and deploy a layered Missile Defense System to defend the United States. This includes providing distinctive specifications and provisioning requirements associated with the MDA Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) Mission. The program also aims to sustain core communication distribution services across the MDA Enterprise, provide end-user support 24/7 for mission event/test and core information systems for unclassified and classified users, manage hardware and software asset management in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)/ DoD FAR Supplements, procure utility services through Space Base Delta 1 (Host Base), ensure compliance with Hazardous Waste, Hazardous Material Recycling, National Environmental Policy Act programs, conduct recurring safety and environmental audits, provide facility maintenance break/fix response for all facility systems 24/7 with a response time of 15 minutes after normal duty hours, among other engineering and event services.
Overall, Program MDIOC's objectives are centered around providing essential infrastructure support for missile defense system activities while ensuring compliance with DoD regulations and standards to maintain a secure environment for research, development, testing, training, and operations related to missile defense systems.
