Description
Items less than $5 Million encompasses various procurement activities to support the Naval Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC), Naval Special Warfare (NSW), and Shore Activities. This includes the acquisition of special purpose vehicles, combat construction support equipment, ocean construction equipment, and mobile utilities support equipment. The program aims to provide responsive military construction support, maintain the integrity and sustainability of units during contingency and wartime operations, and ensure the readiness of the fleet through the procurement of specialized equipment for underwater facilities. Additionally, it supports short-term fleet and shore utility requirements resulting from equipment failures, changes in planning and programming, temporary replacement of utilities equipment, ship support and testing, expeditionary military operations, and utilities outages resulting from natural disasters.
The specific objectives of Program 6060 include the procurement of vehicles and trailers to support mission requirements such as airfield damage repair, pier damage repair, expeditionary fuels, and ordinance. It also involves the acquisition of combat construction support equipment for expeditionary basing engineered capabilities to ensure interoperability, energy enhancements, and commonality across the Navy and DOD. Furthermore, the program aims to provide integrated logistics support for combat construction equipment including technical manuals, blueprints, and parts support. Additionally, it seeks to recapitalize mobile utilities support equipment generator and substation assets to address long-term limited availability issues. Lastly, it involves the procurement of specialized ocean construction equipment such as underwater survey systems, sonar systems, and underwater construction equipment to meet fleet requirements for ocean facility site surveying, construction, inspection, repair, and removal.
