Description
Information Technology Development for the Navy encompasses various objectives and initiatives. The Navy Enterprise IT aims to modernize the Department of the Navy's IT infrastructure, providing support services to over 24 organizations and nearly 6,000 individual customers. This includes the implementation of the Electronic Procurement System (ePS) to align with Financial Improvement Audit Readiness requirements and meet emerging data standards. Additionally, the program focuses on the Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) to ensure a modernized, secure networking platform capable of meeting evolving mission needs and leveraging cloud/web-scale infrastructure.

The NAVAIR IT component of this program is specifically focused on strengthening cybersecurity and addressing Chief of Naval Operations priorities. It involves research and development efforts to deter, detect, and mitigate cyber threats, safeguard classified naval aviation systems, and enhance mission survivability within a cyber-contested environment. Furthermore, the program supports the development of Digital Thread (DT) capabilities for managing technical data required for weapons systems and promoting workforce automation, resource optimization, and process standardization.

Under NAVSEA IT, the program aims to support maritime shore maintenance by modernizing maintenance planning tools, transitioning from costly systems to more effective enterprise solutions, and aligning with laws and regulations across the Future Years Defense Program (FYDP). This includes efforts to provide a modern, supportable, and modular solution enabling Fleet Maintenance across Intermediate and Depot level maintenance activities worldwide for the Navy.

Lastly, MyNavy HR Transformation seeks to revolutionize how HR services are provided throughout a Sailor's entire Hire-to-Retire lifecycle. By streamlining processes and systems, it aims to improve the speed, accuracy, and quality of personnel and pay services while better positioning the Navy to equip and manage its people in alignment with the Sailor 2025 vision.
