Description
The F-16 program aims to provide funding for various support activities and equipment for the F-16 aircraft. This includes prime contractor post-production support, procurement of ground and training equipment, mission support, and interim contract support for F-16 modification programs such as Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) and Comm Suite Upgrade. Additionally, the program allocates funds for activities associated with F-16 Production Line Shutdown and production tooling storage management contracts to ensure continued fleet support capability during and beyond production lines. The goal is to maintain the Electronic Tool Inventory Management System (eTIMS) in cooperation with Lexes Inc. and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Inc., as well as the tear-down, shipping, and storage of unique aircraft manufacturing equipment.
The specific objectives of Program F0160P are to ensure the continuation of prime contractor post-production support and procurement of essential ground support equipment, training equipment, and mission support for the F-16 aircraft. The program also aims to address Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) issues by maintaining the Electronic Tool Inventory Management System (eTIMS) in collaboration with Lexes Inc. and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Inc. Furthermore, the funding supports the storage management of production tooling contracts essential for the F-16 program, ensuring that specialized engineering services are available to maintain fleet support capability during and beyond production lines. Additionally, the program seeks to facilitate the tear-down, shipping, and storage of unique aircraft manufacturing equipment to avoid the need for costly re-manufacturing and lengthy delivery lead times for required tools/parts.
