Electronic Warfare Development

Electronic Warfare Development is a research and development initiative under the Army's Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) budget activity. The program aims to provide the Army with tactical Electronic Warfare (EW) terrestrial applications to detect, identify, locate, and engage hostile forces using the Electro-Magnetic Spectrum (EMS). This includes supporting the development of Terrestrial Layer System Echelons Above Brigade (TLS EAB), Army Reprogramming Analysis Team (ARAT), and Terrestrial Layer System Brigade Combat Team (TLS BCT). The program's objectives include integrating full spectrum Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Cyber-enabling non-kinetic offensive capabilities to support large scale combat operations and Multi-Domain Task Forces.

The funding line for PE 0304270A supports the development of key enablers for the Army Modernization Priorities in support of Terrestrial Layer System Echelons Above Brigade (TLS EAB). This includes providing extended range, integrated full spectrum Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Cyber-enabling non-kinetic offensive capabilities to support large scale combat operations. Additionally, it enables the reprogramming of mission software in response to changes in threat signatures for the Army Reprogramming Analysis Team (ARAT). The program also supports the development of the Middle Tier Acquisition, Terrestrial Layer System Brigade Combat Team (TLS BCT) to provide Force Protection, Situational Development, and Information Superiority in support of Multi-Domain Task Forces and Operational Needs Statements.
