7 - Operational system development
Description
Electronic Warfare Development falls under the Army's Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) budget activity. The specific goal of this program is to develop and enhance tactical Electronic Warfare (EW) terrestrial applications for the Army. This includes the capability to detect, identify, locate, collect/process, report, and engage hostile forces using the Electro-Magnetic Spectrum (EMS). The program aims to support Multi-Domain Task Forces by providing integration, interoperability, and force modernization with emerging capabilities. The funding for FY 2024 will specifically support the Prophet Enhanced efforts (Project CE2), which includes state-of-the-art SIGINT exploitation and engineering to mitigate component obsolescence.
The objectives of Program PE 0607313A include continued development and integration of Signal of Interest (SOI), technical insertion engineering for next-generation signals, and state-of-the-art SIGINT exploitation techniques to increase the capabilities of Prophet Enhanced. Additionally, the program aims to address component obsolescence through engineering and testing efforts. The primary mission of Prophet Enhanced is to provide 24-hour Situation Development and Information Superiority to the supported maneuver brigade, enabling effective engagement of enemy forces. The program also focuses on maintaining operational relevancy in a dynamic threat environment while reducing risk and streamlining business and engineering processes through its acquisition strategy.
