Description
Cyberspace Activities is a comprehensive initiative within the Navy's procurement budget that encompasses various elements aimed at enhancing defensive cyber operations and ensuring the secure, effective operation of Marine Corps cyberspace environments. The program includes the procurement of defensive cyberspace weapon systems (DCWS) to provide self-contained, flyaway equipment for Cyber Protection Teams and Marine Corps Air Ground Task Force teams. Additionally, the program supports the establishment of a robust infrastructure for offensive cyber missions, including a common access platform across all Joint Mission Operations Centers. Furthermore, it focuses on securing, operating, defending, and enabling the Marine Corps Cyberspace Environment through activities such as enterprise information technology security and compliance, public key infrastructure management, and support for publicly available information and open-source intelligence.
The specific objectives of Program 4645 include enhancing the capabilities of defensive cyberspace weapon systems to protect data and networks from malicious cyber activities. It also aims to establish a secure and efficient common firing platform for offensive cyber missions by divesting in legacy platforms and investing in a joint common access platform. Additionally, the program seeks to ensure the secure operation and defense of the Marine Corps Cyberspace Environment through activities such as enterprise information technology security and compliance, public key infrastructure management, and support for publicly available information and open-source intelligence. These objectives align with the broader goal of strengthening cybersecurity measures within the Marine Corps and enhancing its ability to operate effectively in cyberspace domains.
