Description
Consolidated Training System Development encompasses various projects aimed at enhancing fleet readiness training and minimizing life cycle costs. The Training Range and Instrumentation Development (TRID) project under this program focuses on developing specialized instrumentations for fleet readiness training and upgrading fielded systems. The Surface Tactical Team Trainer (STTT) project is dedicated to the sustainment and modernization of the Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT) system, integrating weapon system elements and combat system components to create the Total Ship Training Capability (TSTC). Additionally, the Air Warfare Training Development (AWTD) project supports advanced technology maturation, risk mitigation, study, and demonstration in support of naval aviation manned and unmanned platforms, operational flight trainers, maintenance trainers, training networks, distributed mission training, and Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) training applications.
The Adversary Mission Systems project within this program aims to build upon existing RedNet architecture to allow classified software development and classified hardware integration with Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) Increment II. This effort enables aircrew to accurately emulate peer threat capabilities and provides a standalone Adversary 'Operational Flight Program (OFP)' for deployment on specific aircraft. Furthermore, the Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) Increment II project provides an improved environment for air combat training utilizing a secure air-to-air and air-to-ground data link, as well as encryption and an enhanced threat environment for multiple fixed and rotary wing platforms. Lastly, the High Fidelity Surface Trainers project funds high fidelity Aegis Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) individual, instructor, strike group and team trainers for all Advanced Capability Build (ACB) and below Aegis baselines.
Overall, the specific goals of these projects include enhancing fleet readiness training capabilities, integrating new tactical capabilities to enable crew operator proficiency training, providing advanced technology maturation for naval aviation platforms, improving air combat training environments, and developing high fidelity Aegis Integrated Air and Missile Defense trainers.
