Description
The Concepts Experimentation Program is a vital initiative within the Army's Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) budget activity. The program aims to support current and future concepts and capabilities involving Soldiers and Leaders within live, virtual, and constructive environments. It focuses on exploring concepts, capability requirements, and solutions across various domains such as Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, personnel, and Facilities (DOTMLPF). The primary objective is to clarify and mitigate risk for current and future forces by informing Army futures concepts and assessing high-risk conceptual assumptions. This program element enhances Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) development in support of Program Executive Offices (PEOs) and Program Managers (PMs) for acquisition milestone decisions.

Project 312 under PE 0605326A is the Army/Joint Experimentation project that supports the Concepts Experimentation Program's objectives. It is led by the United States Army Joint Modernization Command (USAJMC) and focuses on live field experimentation to explore concepts, capability requirements, and solutions across various domains. The project aims to integrate and assess Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) concepts, capabilities, and formations at echelon levels from Brigade Combat Teams (BCT) to Theater Army/CJTF. Additionally, it supports the annual capstone force modernization exercise for the U.S. Army known as the Joint Warfighting Assessment (JWA), which accelerates force modernization by training a Joint, Interagency, and Multinational (JIM) force in a challenging operational environment while developing future strategic readiness and interoperability in the JIM warfighting team. These efforts are essential for informing Army future concepts and assessing high-risk conceptual assumptions to focus required capabilities for the future Army.
