5 - Modification of inservice aircraft
Description
C-12 under the Aircraft Procurement, Air Force, aims to support twenty-nine C-12 C/D/F/J aircraft, which are the commercial equivalent to the Beechcraft Super King Air. These twin turboprop aircraft are utilized for transporting cargo and passengers over medium distances. The program's specific objectives include addressing service bulletins and low-cost modifications necessary for Federal Aviation Administration certification while enhancing flight safety, reliability, and maintainability. Additionally, the funding is intended to support emerging modification requirements for Program Management Administration, Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS), system integration lab, trainers, equipment, and other government costs. The budget allocation may also be utilized to tackle Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues.
The primary goal of Program C-12 is to ensure the continued operational readiness and airworthiness of the C-12 C/D/F/J aircraft fleet. This involves addressing the specific service life hours remaining on each model and planning for necessary modifications to extend their operational lifespan until at least 2052. The program's objectives include funding support for service bulletins and low-cost modifications essential for maintaining Federal Aviation Administration certification, as well as addressing emerging modification requirements related to Program Management Administration, Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS), system integration lab, trainers, equipment, and other government costs. Furthermore, the budget allocation may be utilized to mitigate Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues impacting the aircraft fleet.
