Description
Army Missile Defense Systems Integration aims to fund missile defense systems integration efforts for the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command. This program supports the development of warfighting concepts, conducts experiments to validate those concepts, identifies capabilities needed to implement them, and develops solutions to realize global missile defense capabilities. Additionally, it reviews programs managed by the Army and other agencies to ensure they are synchronized and provide the required capabilities for USSTRATCOM and USSPACECOM. The program also supports Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) Force Development activities of the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) Space and Missile Defense Center of Excellence (SMDCoE). It focuses on developing operational prototyping, experimentation, operational analysis, and modeling and simulation in support of missile defense capabilities for current and future forces.

The program's objectives include developing and assessing current SMD technologies through participation in wargames and experiments, improving missile defense analysis through advanced modeling and simulations, providing concept development support for priority programs, and ensuring resources are available to support the strategic missile defense force development mission area. It also aims to develop advanced ground test techniques and technologies to decrease the cost and schedule associated with the development of ground testing and hypersonic systems. Furthermore, it plans to conduct advanced system engineering research into system integration air and missile for complete kill chain of air and missile defense technology evaluation capability. Additionally, it seeks to develop High Power Microwave (HPM) technologies capable of engaging specific target classes, establish a laboratory to apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) Expert Systems to near-term engineering solutions, prototype a maneuverable, laser-guided Gun Launched Interceptor (GLI), and address Counter-Rocket, Artillery, Mortar / Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-RAM / C-UAS) defenses overwhelmed by swarm attacks.
