Description
CPI2 the Army Command Post Integrated Infrastructure (CPI2), is aligned with the Army Network Modernization Priority 1, Strategy Line of Effort #4 Command Post. The program aims to address the Army's need for a more mobile, scalable, interoperable, and agile Command Post. By designing, installing, and fielding mission command warfighting functions on a vehicle platform, CPI2 seeks to disperse Command Posts and blend them in with the overall maneuver formation while providing commanders with the ability to synchronize the close fight on the move via the Mission Command Platform (MCP) and Command Post Support Vehicle (CPSV). Increment 0 of CPI2 delivers integrated MCPs and CPSVs to five Brigade Combat Teams in FY 2023-2024, while Increment 1 will execute requirements to be fielded to 86 units of varying capability and size, plus one Training Base. The program is executed in two increments and aims to provide a Mobile Command Group (MCG) consisting of formation-appropriate platforms that support Corps/Div Commanders/Staff with high-priority functions while on the move.
The funding for FY 2024 base procurement dollars provides support for Increment 0 for the installation and fielding of Mission Command Platforms (MCP) and Command Post Support Vehicles (CPSV) for three Brigade Combat Teams in FY 2024. Additionally, it supports the award of an Increment 1 contract for the production of MCPs and CPSVs for fielding to designated Army units and Increment 1 hardware buys. This includes costs for communications, power, shelter systems, and secure wireless solutions that allow the MCP and CPSV to be more mobile and survivable. The funding also supports unit fielding, logistical support, and program management. The program is necessary for use by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities in accordance with section 1815 of the FY 2008 National Defense Authorization Act (P.L. 110 - 181).
