Description
AN/SLQ-32 is a Navy initiative that aims to provide a family of modular shipborne electronic warfare equipment installed on surface combatants, aircraft carriers, amphibious ships, and auxiliaries in the surface Navy. The specific objectives of this program include early detection, analysis, threat warning, and protection from anti-ship missiles. The budget for OPN 2312 supports the procurement and installation of the AN/SLQ-32(V)6 and AN/SLQ-32(V)7 variants. Additionally, the program elements for Code B items include the Surface Electronic Warfare (EW) Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 1B3 and Block 2 units installed conjunctively to compose the AN/SLQ-32(V)6 system and the SEWIP Block 1B3, Block 2, and Block 3 units installed conjunctively to compose the AN/SLQ-32(V)7 system.
Furthermore, the goals of this program include developing a modern, highly capable family of EW systems through block upgrades of the current AN/SLQ-32 system that are robust in detecting and countering current and future threats. This includes procuring upgrades to the current AN/SLQ-32 system under the Surface Electronic Warfare (EW) Improvement Program (SEWIP). The program also aims to provide specific emitter identification (SEI) capability to various ships/ship classes in a stand-alone configuration through the Small Ship Electronic Support Measures System (SSESM). Additionally, it supports federated Specific Emitter Identification (SEI), consisting of SEI hardware plus an Improved Console And Display (ICAD) modification kit that fully integrates SEI functionality with the ICAD/Q-70 console under SEWIP Block 1B2.
