AIR VIGILANCE (AV)

Air Vigilance (AV) is a software-intensive Automated Information System (AIS) program within the Army, focused on collecting critical intelligence data on emerging threat aerial systems. The program's specific goals include providing early warning of enemy operations in restricted airspace to ensure force protection. This involves the procurement and fielding of specialized hardware and software, including servers and sensors, to support the collection and analysis of intelligence data. Additionally, the program aims to continually enhance its capabilities through Pre-Planned Product Improvements (P3I), such as the integration of the Green Falcon version 3 (GFv3) system into mobile variants, to keep pace with evolving threats.

The Air Vigilance (AV) program under the Army's Other Procurement budget activity seeks to procure additional Capability Drop (CD) 4 components, provide fielding and New Equipment Training for CD 4, and deliver Pre-Planned Product Improvements (P3I) through Green Falcon v3 hardware to the sensor/processor Capability Drop (CD) 3 configuration. This includes upgrading and replacing existing sensors with P3I improvements over the coming years to keep pace with evolving threats. The program also plans to develop a CD 4 mobile variant that will reduce risk and inform a possible FORSCOM increment 2. The AV program's objectives are aligned with enhancing intelligence collection capabilities and ensuring force protection through early warning of enemy operations in restricted airspace.
