Description
A-10 under the Aircraft Procurement, Air Force budget activity, aims to fund modifications and upgrades to the A-10 weapon system to ensure its combat effectiveness. The program includes the Wing Replacement Program (ATTACK) for procuring new wings to enable the A-10 Fleet to fly and fight, as well as the Helmet Mounted Cueing System (HMCS) Interim Contractor Support (ICS) for repairing critical components to keep units fully operational. Additionally, the program encompasses the replacement of current ARC-210 Gen 4 radio(s) with Gen 6 and the procurement of a 2ND Gigabit Ethernet Switch (2GES) to support future avionics modernizations. The program also includes initiatives such as the A-10 High Resolution Display System (HRDS), 3-Dimensional Audio (3DA), Small Diameter Bomb-1 (SDB-1), On Board Oxygen Generation System (OBOGS), Central Interface Control System (CICS), and Portable Automatic Test Set 70A (PATS-70A).
The specific objectives of Program A-10 are centered on enhancing the capabilities of the A-10 weapon system to fulfill various critical functions, including providing persistent, effective, and precise Close Air Support, Interdiction, Forward Air Control (airborne), Combat Search & Rescue, and Strike Control & Reconnaissance. The program aims to ensure that the A-10 remains combat-ready by procuring new wings through the Wing Replacement Program (ATTACK) and providing critical repairs through the Helmet Mounted Cueing System (HMCS) Interim Contractor Support (ICS).
