Acuitus is the premiere education research and development company. Traditional education and training focuses on rote learning, following procedures and pattern recognition. Our focus is on teaching students to understand what they are doing, how systems work, and to develop expertise not just familiarity.
The second aspect of our work is using AI to deliver the training and education a system that has been well beyond the state of the art and first deployed in 2010.
An example of our capability is the Digital Tutor created for the US Navy that takes entry level recruits and, in 20 weeks, creates expert ITs that have repeatedly competed in the Fleet against the Navy's best ten year-ITs and proved to be equal or better.
The results of our work and the field competitions have been extensively documented, notable in publicly available IDA reports (IDA D4686, D5336, D4047) and university studies ( Effectiveness of Intelligent Tutoring Systems , James Kulik, University of Michigan).
