Objective
To pay a special benefit to certain World War II veterans, who are eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits and meet other specified criteria for each month that they reside outside of the United States.

Applicant Eligibility
Be age 65 or older on December 14, 1999, be a World War II veteran (includes Filipino veterans of World War II or organized guerrilla forces under the auspices of the U.S. military); be eligible for SSI benefits for December 1999 and for the month that the application for SVB was filed; and, have other benefit income that is less than 75 percent of the SSI Federal benefit rate. For 2018, 75 percent of the SSI Federal benefit rate is $562.50.
