Objective
Provide support to incorporate competency-based integrative medicine curricula in graduate medical education programs accredited by the Accrediting Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Establish a national coordinating center for integrative medicine (NCCIM) to provide technical assistance to Integrative Medicine Residency (IMR) program grantees.

Applicant Eligibility
Eligible applicants are accredited schools of public health or schools of medicine or osteopathic medicine; an accredited public or private non-profit hospital; a State, local or tribal health department; or a consortium or 2 or more entities as described in paragraphs (1) through (3) of the legislative authority. Residency programs must be accredited by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Applications for the IMR program must be submitted by the accredited residency program who is the primary applicant responsible for carrying out the project. Eligible applicants for the NCCIM are accredited school of public health, school of medicine or osteopathic medicine; an accredited public or private non-profit, hospital; State, local, or Tribal health department; or a consortium of two or more of these entities that can provide specialized technical assistance on a national basis to grantees of the Integrative Medicine Residency (IMR) program; demonstrate expertise in the field of evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine treatment modalities.
Beneficiary Eligibility
Eligible participants must be U.S. citizens, noncitizen nationals, and those foreign nationals who possess a visa permitting permanent residence in the United States; and must be enrolled in an ACGME or AOA accredited/approved graduate medical education program.
