Objective
To provide competitive grants to applicants in areas with significant numbers of children of prisoners to support the establishment and operation of programs using a network of public and private entities and to provide mentoring services for these children. No funding has been provided for the MCP program since FY 2011.

Applicant Eligibility
Those eligible to apply for funding under this grant competition include applicants in areas where there are substantial numbers of children of prisoners. Applicants must establish or expand and operate programs using a network of public and private entities to provide this mentoring. This includes any State or local government unit, Tribe and Tribal organization, private nonprofit, community and faith based groups. No funding has been provided for the MCP program since FY 2011.
Beneficiary Eligibility
Children of prisoners ages 4 through 18 will benefit.
