Objective
The focus of this program is to support the contracting or employing crews of laborers to modify and remove flammable vegetation on Federal land and for using materials from treatments, to the extent practicable, to produce biochar and other innovative wood products, including through the use of existing locally based organizations that engage young adults, Native youth, and veterans in service projects, such as youth and conservation corps.
Applicant Eligibility
For-profit entities; state, local governments; Indian Tribes; school districts; community, not-for-profit organizations; institutions of higher education; and special purpose districts (e.g., public utilities districts, fire districts, conservation districts, and ports). The applicant must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM), which is located at https://sam.gov/.
Funding priority will be to provide financial assistance to an entity seeking to hire crews to remove hazardous vegetation and/or produce biochar and other innovative wood products.
