Acat I, aflcmc/wljk, presidential aircraft recapitalization. Includes engineering and manufacturing development, modification, testing, certification, and fielding of two presidential, mission-ready VC-25B aircraft based on the Boeing 747-8 platform. Tasks performed encompass acquisition and integration of long lead spares, incorporation of engine airworthiness directives (ADS) and service bulletins, modification and delivery of technical publications, and removal of mode 4 identification friend or foe. Additional activities include advancing air vehicle design, risk reduction, sustainment planning, and integration of mission communications, electrical power upgrades, medical facility, executive interior, self-defense systems, and autonomous ground operations capabilities.
