Procurement Exemption for Body Scanner Hardware and Software Upgrade

Background
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) intends to purchase hardware and software upgrade services for proprietary X-ray body scanning equipment directly from Linev Systems US, Inc., based on a Special Facility and Sole Source procurement exemption.
This procurement is necessary to comply with State X-ray safety standards requiring measurement and tracking of dosage levels.

Work Details
The contract involves the purchase of a PC, server, and software package that is compatible with PCSO’s body scanners, specifically the Conpass DV, Clearpass, and BV Max systems.
The following minimum requirements must be met:
1. The entity must be authorized to sell parts and equipment for LINEV Systems scanners.
2. The entity must be authorized to service LINEV Systems scanners.
3. The entity must provide hardware and software compatible with the County-owned scanners to ensure compliance with State safety requirements.

Period of Performance
The estimated total cost of the contract is $73,100 with a maximum term of 12 months.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed in Pierce County, Washington.

Bidder Requirements
Only entities authorized by LINEV Systems US, Inc. to sell parts and service for the specified X-ray scanners are eligible to submit capability statements describing how they meet the minimum requirements outlined.
