Tennis Court Replacements for 3 High Schools

Background
Suffolk Public Schools is seeking bids for the replacement of tennis courts at three high schools: King's Fork High School, Nansemond River High School, and Lakeland High School. The project aims to enhance the facilities available to students and the community by providing updated and safe tennis courts. The contract is issued under IFB #1845-B, with RRMM Architects overseeing the project.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of existing tennis court surfaces, fencing, and competition nets at the following locations:

1) King's Fork High School – 351 King’s Fork Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434;
2) Nansemond River High School – 3301 Nansemond Pkwy, Suffolk, VA 23434;
3) Lakeland High School – 214 Kenyon Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434.

The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the work as outlined in the contract documents prepared by RRMM Architects.

Period of Performance
The anticipated start date for construction is May 1, 2026. Substantial completion is expected by August 14, 2026, with final completion due by August 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at three locations in Suffolk, Virginia: King's Fork High School, Nansemond River High School, and Lakeland High School.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a bid security in the form of a Bid Bond or certified check amounting to five percent (5%) of the total bid. They are required to submit evidence of proper and current certificates of contractor registration in Virginia. Additionally, bidders must comply with nondiscrimination laws as per Section 2.2-4311 of the Code of Virginia.
