The Virginia Tech Athletics Department is seeking a partner to provide adjustable temperature stadium seating benches for athletes during games. The goal is to ensure thermal regulation based on game day conditions, accommodating both hot and cold weather. Work Details
The selected vendor will provide sturdy, reliable, and efficient thermal stadium benches capable of both heating and cooling athletes. Key specifications include:
- Operation in all weather conditions typical of Blacksburg, Virginia's humid continental climate.
- Construction from durable, UV-resistant materials conducive to heat/cold exchange.
- Reinforced frame supporting 700-1,000 lbs per unit.
- Outdoor-rated components that withstand harsh weather elements including heat, rain, snow, wind, and ice.
- Integrated helmet stands for rapid heating/cooling of helmets during gameplay.
- Preferred heated foot platforms complementing the bench design.
- Transportable features such as heavy-duty wheels and hitch compatibility for easy movement between venues.
- Customizable with Virginia Tech branding and logos.
- Electrical compatibility with existing University Athletics infrastructure.
- Quiet operation of fans and machinery to maintain a non-disruptive environment for spectators.

The contract term is for one year with an option for four additional one-year renewals as negotiated.
