The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Corrections and Virginia Correctional Enterprises (VCE), is seeking a qualified contractor to establish a firm-fixed price contract for the removal of an existing air compressor and the installation of a new air compressor system at the VCE Panel Shop located within the Greensville Correctional Center.
The goal is to ensure operational efficiency in the wood finishing shop, which is critical to VCE's mission.
Work Details
The contractor will perform a complete turn-key operation that includes:
1. Disconnecting the existing air compressor and installing a new rotary screw, oil-lubricated air compressor with specifications including: 50 HP motor power, 230 V AC electrical supply, maximum working pressure of 150 PSI, rated airflow of approximately 205–215 CFM at 150 PSI, continuous industrial duty cycle, and integrated air-cooled aftercooler.
2. Installing an integrated refrigerated air dryer sized for full compressor output with automatic or zero-loss drains.
3. Providing microprocessor-based controls with safety protections.
4. Full turnkey installation including delivery, equipment placement, mechanical and electrical installations, startup commissioning, operator orientation, and training.
All labor and materials required for a complete operational system must be included in the bid.
Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence following contract award and completion of a mandatory site visit on January 20, 2026.
