Central Water Reclamation Facility Backup Generator
Background
The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Metro) is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the construction of a backup generation system at the Central Water Reclamation Facility. The goal of this contract is to enhance the facility's operational reliability by installing a new generation building and associated systems, thereby supporting Metro's mission to provide essential services to its residents.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of a new generation building at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant (CWWTP), covering approximately 10,000 square feet. Key components include:
- A high-bay metal building serving as the generator bay with six 2.5 MW generators.
- A single-story structure with CMU walls housing Control, Storage, MV Electrical, Battery, and LV Electrical rooms.
- Construction of a utility corridor approximately 600 feet long connecting the generator building to the biosolids facility.
- Installation of a fine 12.5 MW Backup Generation System including:
* MV and LV gear and connections
* System integration
* New duct backs
* Utility relocations
* Parking area
* Drainage
* Solar installation
* Supporting appurtenances.
All personnel on-site must undergo a TBI TORIS background check and obtain a contractor's badge from Metro Water Services.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over an estimated duration of up to 820 calendar days for substantial completion, followed by an additional 45 calendar days for final completion.

Place of Performance
The work will be conducted at the Central Water Reclamation Facility located near the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and Hume Street in Nashville, TN.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all provisions of the Contractors Licensing Act of 1976 in Tennessee. The prime contractor must be licensed if the total project cost exceeds $25,000. Additionally, contractors performing mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or electrical work must also be licensed if their portion exceeds $25,000. The project requires compliance with various insurance requirements including:
- Products Liability Insurance: $1 million
- General Liability Insurance: $1 million
- Professional Liability Insurance: $1 million
- Automobile Liability Insurance: $1 million
- Worker's Compensation Insurance with statutory limits.
A Payment and Performance Bond is required for contracts exceeding $100,000.
