Recycling Operations Evaluation & Sale of Recyclables Service, As Required REBID

Background
Georgetown County, South Carolina, is seeking proposals for a contractor to provide Recycling Operations Evaluation and Sale of Recyclables Services. The goal is to maximize the recovery of recyclable materials from residents and businesses while ensuring cost-effective handling and disposal. The contract will support the County's environmental services mission.

Work Details
The contractor shall collect various recyclable commodities including newspapers, cardboard/paperboard, mixed paper, glass, and commingled cans and bottles.

They must haul a minimum of two to three trailers of recyclables per week using trailers provided by them. The contractor is required to weigh in and out on the County’s landfill scales and provide signed weight tickets. Additionally, they must legally remove contaminants, provide annual training for County employees on best practices for sorting materials, and submit recommendations for improving recycling efficiency. An assessment of compliance with environmental laws may also be required.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract will be for one calendar year from the effective date, with options to renew for up to four additional consecutive terms based on satisfactory performance.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Georgetown County Material Recycling Facility (MRF) located in Georgetown, South Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all federal, state, county, and local laws applicable to the services provided. They must also maintain insurance coverage as specified in the solicitation documents, including general liability and workers' compensation insurance.
