Background
The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians (CTCLUSI) is seeking proposals from qualified insurance carriers or brokerage firms to provide comprehensive insurance services for the Tribe and its affiliated entities.
The goal is to establish a cost-effective and culturally competent insurance program that safeguards tribal assets, employees, operations, and digital infrastructure while adhering to tribal sovereignty and relevant laws.
Work Details
The selected firm will be responsible for marketing and obtaining bids for various lines of insurance, including but not limited to:
- Commercial Property
- Inland Marine
- Crime
- Comprehensive General Liability
- Professional Liability
- Employment-Related Practices Liability
- Workers’ Compensation
- Cyber Liability
- Medical Malpractice
Specific brokerage services include risk identification and assessment, funding mechanism advisement, timely issuance of certificates and binders, monitoring loss history trends, troubleshooting coverage issues, educating employees on coverage areas critical to CTCLUSI, and identifying potential coverage gaps. Proposers are encouraged to identify optional coverages such as Directors & Officers (D&O) liability and environmental liability.
Period of Performance
The anticipated contract term is an initial two (2) years with options to renew for up to three additional one-year periods based on performance and mutual agreement.
Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians Tribal Government located at 1245 Fulton Avenue - Coos Bay, Oregon 97420.
Bidder Requirements
Proposers must demonstrate current licensing to conduct insurance business in applicable jurisdictions, a minimum of three years’ experience providing insurance to tribal governments or similar public-sector entities, financial stability with an AM Best rating or equivalent, knowledge of tribal sovereignty considerations, and experience coordinating coverage across multiple related entities.
